To all my friends old and new who showed me so much kindness and support during our hard fought campaign, I thank you with all of my heart.

Although losing is always difficult, the outpouring of support and knowing that 15,437 people felt that I was the right person to lead the district to a new place is humbling and I don’t take it lightly. Forty-eight percent of the vote doesn't put us in office, but it makes us winners none the less. Your faith in me makes me feel like a winner and I will never forget it.

Lest we forget, the work that needs to be done is still ever present and dedication comes in many forms. Keep up the fight to make sure that our voices are heard and that apathy and intolerance have no place in our district and in our world. We are all better than that.
